In 2014, Mike Pettyt founded Tracks and Layers with a clear mission: to have fun making things move and to solve the creative challenges others find impossible. With experience at the BBC and years of freelance work, he built a motion graphics and animation studio in Manchester that’s all about creativity, collaboration, and delivering top-tier work.
Today, we’re a trusted partner for leading production companies and content creators, offering bold broadcast graphics, playful animations, and eye-catching digital content. Mike Pettyt
Founder & Creative Director
Mike started all this – our creative spark and resident energy boost, he leads the studio’s vision and helps guide client briefs into show-stopping motion. He’s a gadget geek, diving deep into everything from espresso machines to BBQs. A foodie who’s equally happy in Greggs or a Michelin spot, and stays active with football, swimming, and family time with his two kids.
